Happen to disagree on the state of Kotlin scripting. Immaturity of Kotlin scripting isn’t the issue, instead the real issue is around the crippling limitations which prevent Kotlin being used for general purpose scripting. Where Kotlin scripting really shines is with tool scripting (especially on the JVM side) where the scripting requirements are much simpler than general scripting.
Surprised that the author hasn’t noted that Gradle Inc are developing an alternative way to write Gradle build scripts in Kotlin (via Gradle Kotlin DSL) instead of Groovy. Gradle Kotlin DSL (old video — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gmanjWNZ8E) has been picking up a lot of steam recently and is being promoted by Jake Wharton (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAec6OpJiA8). It is estimated that Gradle Script Kotlin will reach a 1.0 release in about 4 months.
